Life Coaching Tips: Tough Love

Life coaching tips might involve some tough love for your clients ©KatiyaThere are many life coaching tips on how to establish rapport with your clients.  And by all means, it is a very important skill.  But should you ever intentionally break rapport?  Is there a right way to do it?  What if your client stops liking you and decides to quit?  It all comes down to how committed you are to your coaching client and getting the results they want.

Life Coaching Tips:  How to Break Rapport Without Loosing Your Client

The most important life coaching tips to breaking rapport with your client is to pre-frame your sessions by letting your clients that you are willing to be there for them and what they want to achieve in their life.  No one else will do that for them.  There is an unspoken agreement between most friends, lovers, and families that says, “We will make sure you stay safe by not allowing you to fly too high.”

An Effective Life Coach Must Not Care
To be truly effective, a life coach must not be attached to the coaching relationship.  If you need your clients for any reason, you will not be able to serve them to the highest degree.  If you need them to continue because they help pay the bills, you will bind your own hands in what you are able to accomplish.  You are better off working in a fast food chain to support yourself than to be attached to a coaching client for personal gain.

The other life coaching tips for effectively breaking rapport are to come from a position of total love, caring, and dedication to your client.  You must be completely detached of their progress, then give 110%.  Your best coaching, strategy and other tips.  Don’t leave anything unsaid, because it is really up to you.  Becoming a life coach who is willing to risk their own needs getting met to serve someone else is truly priceless in today’s world of political correctness.

Give this strategy a try and see for yourself that it works.   If you liked this coaching tip, leave a comment

Coaching Techniques to Get Your Clients to Tell You What They Really Want From Their Coaching Session: Life Coach Tips to Help You Get Into Your Clients’ Worlds

Life Coaching Techniques That Help You to Meet Your Clients’ Needs, Especially When they Aren’t Good at Communicating

e

Today I was asked, “When there is cultural barrier or if clients are shy, what coaching techniques are effective at getting your client to open up and communicate the needs they need meet in their coaching session? What coaching tips to do have to get me past the awkward silence when a client can’t think of anything they want to work on?” The first life coach tips I offered him was to stop buying into these clients’ stories, and then I shared these coaching techniques with him.

Life Coach Tips to Get Into Your Clients’ Heads

e

Life Coaching Techniques #1: Be sure you’ve gained rapport with your client. Get to know them by asking them about themselves. The most important aspect of these life coach tips is to find something that you really admire about the client. Compliment them, back it up with the reason you admire that quality or achievement, and then ask them to share how they were able achieve that outcome.

Life Coaching Techniques #2: Go back to their goals. The reason this coach was having trouble was that his client didn’t have ambitious goals, their goals would be achieved with or without coaching. So there wasn’t anything to discuss. Make sure your clients have S.M.A.R.T. goals: Specific, Measurable, Ambitious, have a Reason, and Time frame to achieve that goal by. Once you know what goals that matter to your clients, you have accessed their emotions. They key to successful coaching is to take people beyond an ordinary conversation and into innermost desires. Without these life coach tips you are not going to be able to move people past their greatest fears and frustrations and toward their greatest aspirations.

Life Coaching Techniques #3: Be the one person who is willing to take a stand for and believe in the possibilities. The most important life coach tips are to not buy into their “stories” and to let them know when they are running their usual pattern. For example, someone who comes up with goals that are not ambitious and doesn’t have any idea about what they want to work on in a coaching session may really be living in fear of loosing certainty or significance. They may lack confidence in their own abilities, not want to loose face in front of their peers, or just fear making any move into the “unknown.” Let your client know what they are doing, help them see what it is costing them, and provide an empowering alternative.

Implement These Life Coach Tips to Make a Difference in Your Clients’ Lives

e

With these three coaching techniques you will be able to crack the toughest nut open, and start making a difference in that person’s life. As you use these life coach tips, make sure you remember that you are the leader. You set the pace and it is your job as their coach to find out how to get the results they really want.

How to Become a Motivational Coach: Master Coach Life Coach Tips to Help You Succeed

Become a Motivational Coach by Implementing These Life Coach Tips

These life coach tips are the fastest way to become a motivational coach, or any other type of coach for that matter.  These are the life coach tips that all master coaches use.  It does not matter where you are, if you want to become a motivational coach or a master motivational coach, you’ll need to:

1. Set a clear GOAL:  The first of these life coach tips is important because the more clear you are on the specifics of your goal and the reasons why you want to achieve this goal, the greater the motivation you’ll have achieve it.  Instead of making a goal to become a motivational coach, you’ll want to be more specific.  You might have the goal to become a motivational coach who powerfully impacts the lives of 30 clients per month.  Next, associate massive pleasure to achieving the goal and massive pain if you don’t.

2. Take MASSIVE action:  You may not know everything you need to do, but the key is to get started.  For example, to become a motivational coach you can start by setting free sessions, talking to other coaches, and coaching friends.  Don’t become a knowledgeable fool; take action.  Intellectual mastery without action is worthless, but massive action with even a little knowledge is priceless.

3. Take note of your RESULTS: Get feedback from clients and yourself.  Get life coach tips about what’s working, what’s great, what’s not great.

4. Revise your PLAN:  This is the most crucial aspect of these life coach tips.  Use the feedback and revise your plan based on the new information.

A Famous Example of These Life Coach Tips in Action

Colonel Harland Sanders used these ‘life coach tips’ and had great results.  In 1896 Sanders’ father died forcing his mother to enter the work-force.  At the young age of six Sanders was tasked with looking after his younger siblings and cooking many of the family’s meals.  In a years time he had mastered several dishes.  Over the next 30 years Sanders held many jobs but his passion for cooking remained.  In 1930, while working at a service station, Sanders began cooking for hungry travelers.  Word spread and visitors would come from near and far just for a taste of Sanders’ food.  As the popularity of his meals grew Sanders moved across the street in order to increase his capacity.  Over the next ten years he perfected his cooking technique and his secret blend of eleven spices.  In 1955, Sanders, confident in the quality of his recipe, devoted himself to franchising his business.  Less than ten years later he had over 600 restaurants in the US and Canada.  Even though Sanders dabbled in other professions he returned to his chicken recipe, knowing it was worth something.  He started out cooking from a service station, but revised his plans to accommodate more people.  He then took massive action to franchise his business.  Without a doubt, he was laughed at at first, but then he reviewed and revised his approach.  With tenacity and time he was able share his chicken with more people than he thought possible.  Sanders didn’t have the best plan, but the massive action he took made up for it.  The same will work for you in your quest to become a master motivational coach.

Life Coach Tips for Enrolling Anyone into Coaching: Become a Life Coach Who Gets People to Say Yes to Coaching and Yes to Their own Goals

When You Become a Life Coach You’ll Need Life Coach Tips on How to Enroll Anyone into Coaching With You

Following these simple life coach tips will help you become a life coach who can enroll anyone into coaching.  The easiest way to start is by offering a free coaching session.  When you become a life coach who provides value and follows these simple life coach tips, you will be able to start filling your schedule with paying clients.

One of The Simple Life Coach Tips Find Out What Are Their Goals?

The first of these life coach tips is to find out what their goals are.  They key is to become a life coach who understands what a persons goals are in such detail that the goal starts to live and breath between you and your client.  The goal becomes a reality at this moment, instead of an idea.  When you get this type of clarity around a goal, you will know it and more importantly your client will know it, too.

Become a Life Coach Who Can Discover What Needs Will be Fulfilled… Second of The Life Coach Tips

The second of these life coach tips is to find out which needs will be fulfilled at a higher level by achieving that goal.  The four basic needs are certainty, variety, love/connection and significance.  For example, someone who wants to make $10K/ month might feel that his need for certainty, variety, and significance would be met at a higher level by achieving this goal.  His need for certainty will be met at a higher level because he will have more financial security.  His need for variety might be met at a higher level because he will be able to travel more often, and he will feel more significant because he will be able to pay for his children’s college tuitions.  Become a life coach who helps your clients understand how their needs will be affected.  This will provide motivation to make changes.

Don’t forget to become a life coach who helps their clients find out what they fear they will have to give up in order to achieve their goals.  This fear might hold them back from succeeding.

Final of The Life Coach Tips: Become a Life Coach Who Can Close the Gap

The final step in these life coach tips is to become a life coach who closes the gap by showing clients how great their life will look from the perspective of meeting their needs at a higher level, and how it’s likely to turn out if they don’t.  Once they have a clear picture ask them, “If you had the strategy to help you overcome the obstacles that you are likely to come across and accountability to make sure you stayed on track, making sure your activities would produce results and not just activity to “look busy”…What would that be worth to you?”

If they don’t say “priceless”, either their goals aren’t big enough, they don’t believe it’s really possible or they just don’t feel that they are in control of their lives.  Become a life coach who helps them get past these obstacles so they can say yes to their goals, and yes to coaching.  Then they will be receptive to your life coach tips and making a positive change in their own lives.

Become a Professional Life Coach: Four Life Coach Tips to Find Your Niche

One of the most important aspects as you become a professional life coach is to develop a niche. Defining a niche tells the world that you are a specialist, and not just trying to be all things to all people. Often when people decide they want to become a professional life coach, they are afraid to choose a niche because they think they might miss out on potential clients. A niche simply allows you to clearly define your target market so you can become the expert. Here are a few life coach tips to get you started:

The 3 ‘Niche Creation and Exploration’ Tips for Those Who Want to Become a Professional Life Coach:

Life Coach Tips #1

Establish your coaching vision by asking yourself these 3 questions:

What am I most passionate about?

What can I be the best at doing in the world?

What can I make money doing?

The answer lies where these 3 answers intersect. These questions are difficult, and may not be apparent when you first decide to become a professional life coach. You may need to get some general coaching experience before you truly can define your niche, and that’s OK in the beginning. But hold yourself accountable to the process and your vision will start becoming clear.

Life Coach Tips #2

Consider different life coaching niches based upon these 4 criteria:

1.  Become a professional life coach for a specific group. This can be a religious group, a profession, a demographic group, or a group that shares a common interest. For example, maybe you want to be a health coach for women over 55. This doesn’t mean you can’t coach a woman in her 20’s that needs your services; it’s just not the niche you’re initially targeting.

2.  Make sure you become a professional life coach in a target niche that is actively searching for solutions. To find out if people are searching for solutions in your niche, go to the Google key word search tool. It will show you the exact key word phrases people are searching for and how many times those key word phrases are used in searches.

3.  Your niche should serve an emotional or irrational need. One of my mentors once referred to this tendency as the “’Oholic factor”.

People have who love chocolate, cars, or wine have an emotional need/desire.

People about to loose their home to foreclosure have an irrational desire.

Techies that have to have the latest gadget before their friends do have an irrational desire.

Real estate agents who are passionate about being the best have an emotional drive and desire.

4.  Your target niche should have few perceived options. They may have options, but they may not be aware of them, or not see them as truly viable options.

Life Coach Tips #3

If you don’t already have one, hire a coach to help you through the process. If you are going to become a professional life coach, you should walk your talk and value professional life coaching enough to become a client yourself. If you don’t feel it is worthwhile to pay for coaching, how are you going to convince others that it is? .

These life coach tips will help you get started in your search. Some examples of niches include: Wellness Coaching, Relationship Coaching, Parent Coaching, Life Purpose Coaching, Career Coaching, Success Coaching, Wealth or Financial Coaching, Sales Training Coaching, Time Management Coaching, and Leadership Coaching. Just make you are passionate about your niche and that you have potential to be the best at in the world in that area. That way you will be able to serve your clients’ deepest outcomes and needs.

Become a Business Coach: 5 Life Coach Tips to Eliminate Distractions and Increase Success for Your Clients

If you want to become a business coach and start having instant success, use these 5 life coach tips. They work for employees, self-employed people, and people who work from home. And the great news is that these life coach tips can be applied to reduce and eliminate distractions immediately. To become a business coach you will have to provide strategy and accountability in these areas:

  • Life coach tip #1: Have your clients use and honor their calendar and task list. Make sure they plan their day on paper, and decide which items are going to produce the most results toward your goals.  It is said that 80% of results are achieved with 20% of the activity. Have your clients do those activities first.

Become a business coach who can help your clients master time management skills that will keep them on track and eliminate distractions.

  • Life coach tip #2: Tell your clients to stay off the internet. It is one of the biggest time wasters. If they need to research, have them set a specific amount of time for that activity…then get off. This includes emails. Have them set time that they will screen for anything important, and when they will get to the rest. Remove computer desktop icons. All of those things they love doing, like playing solitaire. Just have them remove the icon from their computer desktop. Out of sight, out of mind.
  • Life coach tip #3: Discourage walk-in traffic. If they’re a manager, this may be more difficult; but see if they can set walk-in hours. This will at least cut down on a majority of the distractions, especially if they encourage people to stick to the schedule. Ideally, scheduling appointments is the most effective. If it can’t be avoided, encourage your clients to use concise communication to manage the conversation and make sure it stays focused. With tact and friendliness, of course. You can become a business coach who can provide added benefit by using assessments to help identify the various communication styles within the office.

For those who work at home, this tip applies to their family. Your clients need to set clear boundaries when they are not to be distracted.

  • Life coach tip #4: Work when no one else is around. Encourage your client to get to work an hour early, or stay late. This can sometimes be the greatest distraction eliminator. Without clients, co-workers, or phone calls, they may accomplish more in 2 hours with no one else around than they could in 8 hours and a full office.  Another more extreme example of this would be to commit to a ‘working’ vacation or retreat.  If your coaching client spends a week in a secluded location just focusing on their work and plans, they’ll create a chance to focus intently on the most important projects that never seem to get done.
  • Life coach tip #5: Remove desktop clutter. Have your clients keep only what they need at the moment on their desk, and file the others away until they need them. This includes magazines they’re going to read on their lunch break and anything else that might distract them from concentrating on their work. It’s OK to have a few personal items; they just shouldn’t be a distraction.

To become a business coach, and be successful, you will have to make sure your clients understand the costs of habitual distraction, and see the benefits of becoming more efficient. Remember, if you are to become a business coach who makes a difference for your clients, you will need to help them bridge the gap between what they intend to do, and what they actually accomplish.

Become a Success Coach Who Can Motivate People to Do Anything (Secret Life Coach Tips From My Guru)

To become a success coach, you need to understand the 4 basic human needs. They are Certainty, Variety, Love & Connection, and Significance. Once you understand these needs, and apply them to your coaching with a few secret life coach tips, you will be able to motivate almost anyone to change their behavior even during a single coaching session.

The first of the life coach tips is to look at these needs on 2 different axises. On the first axis is: Certainty vs. Variety. People who are primarily driven by Certainty are generally introverted, and like to move at a slow pace. They want to feel safe and assured. On the other side of the scale, are the people who variety driven. They are generally extroverted, and are looking for variety and a fast pace.

The second axis is: Love & Connection vs. Significance. People who are driven by the need for Love & Connection have a strong people focus. People who are being driven by the need to feel Significance are generally direct and think in a linear fashion (1 + 1 = 2, or ‘Just give me the steps, 1,2,3!’). They are task and results focused.

If you are to become a success coach who can motivate anyone, you need to realize how everything a person does is related to getting a need met. Sometimes more than one need can get met at the same time. This is one of the big life coach tips. Why won’t your clients follow through with their goal to quit smoking? They get stressed, and want Certainty. Your clients get a lot of Certainty in knowing they can get a “quick fix” by lighting up a cigarette. They are meeting a need by continuing to smoke.

Imagine you have become a success coach for the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, and this client is chronically late (90% of the time). What life coach tips do you have for him? Maybe he is getting a lot of significance by showing up late.  Having “big” problems that come up and keep him from getting to places on time could feed his ego. Maybe he needs to see that there are other

ways to get significance?  If you can show him that getting this need met by being late may be keeping him from connecting deeply in some of his relationships. This might be affecting his friendships.  This pattern could be keeping him from meeting his friends needs for love & connection at a deeper level.

What if you were to become a success coach for Donald Trump? Sure, he’s very Significance driven. But do you think he might need some coaching around getting some of his needs for Love & Connection met at a deeper level without giving up that significance?

What about those people who have such a problem with clutter that their house is a fire safety hazard? They tell you they really want to get things clean, but they keep putting more clutter in their yard? Is their clutter a vehicle for significance or variety? You bet! You can offer life coach tips for this type of person when you understand the motivations behind their actions and behaviors.

Whatever patterns of behavior people use the most is an indicator of which needs are primary. The key is to become a success coach who can help them balance their needs, and get all of their needs met at a higher level.

With a few life coach tips, your clients can become aware of how their overused vehicles are not taking them where they want to be after all. Then they will be motivated to change their behavior so they can really get what they want.
