Become A Business Coach Without Going On Welfare

It might sound like fun to become a business coach.  You can help people and choose your own schedule.  But statistics show the average salary of a business coach working full time is approximately $4900 for the first year.  Depending on where you live that may or not go far.  The salary is so far below the poverty level you could probably get food stamps.  If you want to become part of the solution to today’s economical crisis you’ll need a plan.

Tips To Become a Business Coach Without Going Broke

.
1. The first thing to realize when you become a business coach is that unless you have a lot of clients waiting to start, you’re going to need to rely on savings or a stream of income to support yourself along this path.

2. If you want to become a coach who makes a six figure salary, you’re going to need to run your coaching business like a business.  That means keeping your nose to the grindstone until you achieve enough momentum to start your business.

3. Have a plan, get coaching, and learn the art of getting coaching clients.  There are many great coaches out there who are starving only because they lack the skills to develop their own business.  Don’t become a statistic.

What’s The Payoff?

.
If you become a business coach who has 20 clients, the average salary would be about $10,000 a month if you charged $500/month.  If you wanted to leverage your time, you could offer group coaching or live trainings to your services. The key as with any business is really about following your own advice as a business coach and get some coaching for yourself so you can achieve your own goals.  And as with most things, you’ll get what you pay for.  Don’t fall prey to relying on trading coaching with your friends.  You need someone with experience who can lead you to the next level.

Don’t Become A Business Coach If You Can’t Be Agent 007

To become a business coach who can quickly get to the root cause of your business client’s wants and needs requires you to become an agent 007. You’ll need business experience for sure and an MBA could be a plus. The main thing is to think like agent 007 and become a business coach who possesses tricks and tips that’ll help you break through any challenge that you’re business coaching client will face.

James Bond was a covert agent. A daring spy. You have to become a spy on several levels.

What Does It Mean To Become A Business Coach 007 Agent

.
You’ll have to be like a fly on the wall in your business coaching client’s life. Reading through the lines and hearing what’s not being said is critical to lead your clients to take action which will keep them alive in business.

Once you become a business coach, you’ll be the 007 agent for coaching your clients through strategy, time management, and business relationships. Ian Fleming was the original author of the James Bond story. Fleming wrote 12 James Bond novels and spent lots of time alone in Jamaica getting into the head of his character James Bond. You’ll need to spend time alone after your coaching sessions and get into your clients head and understand what they want and how best to help them get it.

In business coaching the most important thing is that you ask the right 007 questions.

4 Questions You Need To Ask To Be A Business Coach 007

.
The two questions you must be able to get to the bottom of to become a business coach who’s able to uncover your coaching client’s goals and mission include:

What does your client want and what’s preventing them from getting it? In this article I give you 4 questions I use to quickly find out what business coaching clients want.

1. What do you want to feel? They might want to feel different in that situation.
2. What do you want to do? What action do you need to take? Or what action do you want to get yourself to take in that situation?
3. What do you want to have? There might be a specific thing you want to have. Or a specific situation you want to have externally.
4. What do you want to be? Or who do you want to be more specifically. What identity do you want to take on? Who do you want to become. What role you want to take on. What do you want to achieve in who you’re becoming.

You’ll need to be great at asking these 4 questions to become a business coach who hears what’s not being said and who sees what’s not visible. These questions are different ways to ask “what do you want.” What do you want is the basic question.

While your coaching client is talking you can get a much more specific idea of what realm of their life is this wanting happening in. Is it happening within them emotionally in terms of what they want to feel in this situation? Is it happening in terms of what they need to do behaviorally speaking? Or is it something they want externally. Or who they want to become.

Once you get a sense of what area your business coaching client really is focused on then you can ask them the specific question your client is focused on for his wants. Now there’s probably going to be an answer to all of these questions at some level and that’s great, but you’ve got to have a place to start.

Look for the first area that your business coaching client really is focused on. Get the answer to that first. Then you might expand it depending on what you’re really trying to diagnose with your client.

Remember, the first question is what do your coaching clients want and the second question is what’s preventing them from getting it. Next time I’ll give you some 007 business coaching tips to become a business coach who can drill down even more on what’s preventing your business coaching clients from getting what they want.

Give this strategy a try and see for yourself that it works. If you liked this coaching tip, leave a comment or use the handy bookmark buttons below to share it with others on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. Thanks!

Become a Business Coach Who is Not All Talk: What to Do When You’re Afraid to Take Your Own Business Coaching Tips

A lot of people who want to become a business coach think all they need is a few good strategies and techniques. These are the same people who quote, “Those who can’t, teach” or in this case “coach.” But if all you needed were a few business coaching tips to be successful in getting clients, then everyone would be doing it. If you really want to become a business coach who does more than give good advice, you’re going to need to roll up your own sleeves and get ready to work. Learning a few business coaching tips isn’t enough to really understand the mindset of someone who is looking into the face of their greatest fear. If you want to be a leader, you need to go first.

Do You Want to Become a Business Coach that Takes Things to the Next Level?

.

One of my mentors was giving a seminar about a week ago, and suddenly one of his business coaching tips jumped out at me. He said that over the past few months he had contacted four people and asked them if they would consider doing joint ventures with him. What I understood was that if I wanted to become a business coach who was going to take things to the next level, I was going to have to do the same.

Business Coaching Tips are Worthless Without Action

.

Of course, thinking about new business coaching tips and actually taking action are worlds apart. I knew who I had to contact, and saying I was apprehensive seems like an understatement now. So I decided I was going to become a business coach who walked her talk. I called one of my friends for some coaching. Obviously there were some limiting beliefs going on.

A Peer Group Can Boost Your Efforts to Become a Business Coach

.

The benefit of having an empowering peer group become apparent to me here. My friend was able to help me to see that I could break down this goal into several smaller steps. From a big business coaching tip to roughly four micro business coaching tips. Once I could each step was clear, I was able to become a business coach who could take one step at a time.

You Have to Grow in Order to Become a Business Coach

.

When I decided to become a business coach who was willing to take on this challenge, I expanded my comfort zone. I can relate to my own clients at a higher level. Will there be other business coaching tips that come up and challenge me? Sure. But that is one of the things I love most about being a coach. It’s my job to grow, to expand, and in playing a bigger game in my own life I am able to make a bigger difference for others.

In This Business Coaching Training, We Explore The Acronym ‘D-E-C-I-D-E’ to See The Steps to Help Your Business Coaching Client Get Extraordinary Results:

Explicate Options – Become a business coach who has their clients brainstorm and write down all of their options, even the ones that seem implausible.

The Power Principle states that one option is no choice, two options is a dilemma, and three options is a choice.

Consequences – Become a business coach who helps their clients determine what are the likely positive and negative aspects of each option, and what are the rewards and costs of each option.

      3. On a scale of 0-100%, what is the probability that the upside/downside will occur?

      4. What is the emotional cost or benefit if you were to choose this option?

Diminish – Coach your clients to review the downsides of their remaining options. Brainstorm ways to diminish or eliminate these disadvantages.

Embrace – Thibusiness coaching training tip is the key to success. After selecting the option that provides the greatest certainty that the desired outcome will be achieved, have your clients embrace that option. After your clients select their best option, have them resolve to make it work. Have them deicide that no matter what happens, this option will give them a win. This will allow you to become a business coach that can help them design and implement their plan of action without second guessing themselves and robbing themselves of valuable resources.

Become a Business Coach, Walk Your Talk: Life Coaching Education to Implant Into Your Own Life

I’m looking outside the window of my office, watching a hot air balloon fly across the sky, and seeing a metaphor for some great life coaching education. Especially for people who want to become a business coach. If you can’t see the similarities of how to become a business coach and how to get a huge balloon to fly, then follow closely.

Have you ever watched a team launch a hot air balloon? First the balloon has to be unfolded flat on the ground, and then filled. It takes a lot of energy and effort to fill a balloon that size. When it’s almost filled, there is a lot of scrambling while people load into the basket because once there is enough hot air in that balloon, nothing can stop it from going up! The life coaching education analogy comes from figuring out how to get that type of momentum so you can become a business coach…or any other type of coach.

There are so many things competing for and demanding your focus in life, that unless you make a conscious effort to control your focus, you’ll find yourself living in reaction to these demands instead of living in a life plan you’ve designed for yourself. You will need to have this type of focus to become a business coach, motivational coach, or personal life coach.

Here are 5 life coaching education tools that you can use on a weekly basis to become a business coach that gets results:

Life coaching education tip 1. Capture: Take out your “to do” list items and brainstorm all the coaching business results you want to achieve in the next week. Don’t forget to scan anything not completed from last weeks life coaching and check upcoming deadlines and events.

Life coaching education tip 2. Chunk: Separate results from “to do” items, and group them with other items that create the same result. Create any other important results that needs to happen that week. You should now have a list of results you want to accomplish.

Life coaching education tip 3. Prioritize: Prioritize your results from left to right across the top of your coaching business plan, ranking them from most important (far left) to least important (far right). Highlight any results that are a MUST for the week in yellow (vs. things you SHOULD do but they are not absolutely required).

Life coaching education tip 4. Purpose: Add the purpose for each result at the bottom of each respective result column. There are three things to address in the purpose section:

            • Group I: Measurable positive results: What will happen when I attain this result?
            • Group II: Positive feelings: How would it feel to attain this result?
            • Group III: Identity: WHO are you in the role of the person attaining this result?

Life coaching education tip 5. Actions: Create and review the list of actions that it would take to produce each result.  Decide if there are any actions that need to be added or deleted. Then prioritize the actions, highlighting those that are a MUST and moving less important actions lower on the list.

Now you know how to become a business coach who can help their clients get the focus they need to reach their goals.

Become a Business Coach: 5 Life Coach Tips to Eliminate Distractions and Increase Success for Your Clients

If you want to become a business coach and start having instant success, use these 5 life coach tips. They work for employees, self-employed people, and people who work from home. And the great news is that these life coach tips can be applied to reduce and eliminate distractions immediately. To become a business coach you will have to provide strategy and accountability in these areas:

            • Life coach tip #1: Have your clients use and honor their calendar and task list. Make sure they plan their day on paper, and decide which items are going to produce the most results toward your goals.  It is said that 80% of results are achieved with 20% of the activity. Have your clients do those activities first.

Become a business coach who can help your clients master time management skills that will keep them on track and eliminate distractions.

            • Life coach tip #2: Tell your clients to stay off the internet. It is one of the biggest time wasters. If they need to research, have them set a specific amount of time for that activity…then get off. This includes emails. Have them set time that they will screen for anything important, and when they will get to the rest. Remove computer desktop icons. All of those things they love doing, like playing solitaire. Just have them remove the icon from their computer desktop. Out of sight, out of mind.
            • Life coach tip #3: Discourage walk-in traffic. If they’re a manager, this may be more difficult; but see if they can set walk-in hours. This will at least cut down on a majority of the distractions, especially if they encourage people to stick to the schedule. Ideally, scheduling appointments is the most effective. If it can’t be avoided, encourage your clients to use concise communication to manage the conversation and make sure it stays focused. With tact and friendliness, of course. You can become a business coach who can provide added benefit by using assessments to help identify the various communication styles within the office.

For those who work at home, this tip applies to their family. Your clients need to set clear boundaries when they are not to be distracted.

            • Life coach tip #4: Work when no one else is around. Encourage your client to get to work an hour early, or stay late. This can sometimes be the greatest distraction eliminator. Without clients, co-workers, or phone calls, they may accomplish more in 2 hours with no one else around than they could in 8 hours and a full office.  Another more extreme example of this would be to commit to a ‘working’ vacation or retreat.  If your coaching client spends a week in a secluded location just focusing on their work and plans, they’ll create a chance to focus intently on the most important projects that never seem to get done.
            • Life coach tip #5: Remove desktop clutter. Have your clients keep only what they need at the moment on their desk, and file the others away until they need them. This includes magazines they’re going to read on their lunch break and anything else that might distract them from concentrating on their work. It’s OK to have a few personal items; they just shouldn’t be a distraction.

To become a business coach, and be successful, you will have to make sure your clients understand the costs of habitual distraction, and see the benefits of becoming more efficient. Remember, if you are to become a business coach who makes a difference for your clients, you will need to help them bridge the gap between what they intend to do, and what they actually accomplish.
