3 Keys To Life Success Coaching For Procrastinators

Procrastination in your life success coaching | Image by it-career-coachProcrastination is often an issue during life success coaching. A client may come into coaching because she is unhappy with the level of success she is achieving. Or maybe, her life isn’t as fulfilling as she would like. Perhaps she has a plan for a business she wants to start or a weight loss goal that she just can’t seem to get off the ground. Procrastination is often to blame and may be the “presenting complaint”, as they say in the medical profession.

Procrastination Can Be Related To Limiting Beliefs

Life success coaching won’t move your client where she wants to go if you don’t tackle her issues about procrastination. You have to look underneath the surface to see what’s really going on. Does your client believe she “isn’t good enough” or “isn’t smart enough” or something similar? If so, she may procrastinate because on some deep unconscious level, she fears that she will fail in her business. That would be painful proof that her belief about not being good enough is true. Or perhaps she believes that a man will never love a woman who is more successful than he is. That could be the unconscious rationale for procrastinating to avoid building a successful business. Look deep and see what limiting beliefs your life success coaching needs to address.

Your Client Needs A High Value Goal

A big value of working with a life success coach is getting totally clear on goals. Part of this process is making sure that the goals are real and important. And this is extremely relevant to the issue of procrastination. It isn’t necessarily a limiting belief that causes procrastination. It could just be that your client’s doesn’t have sufficient motivation. An important part of life success coaching is helping your client get emotionally attached to the benefits of attaining her goal.

A Practical Solution From Life Success Coaching

The last key to mastering procrastination is very straightforward. Sometimes the reason your client isn’t making progress toward her goal is simply that she doesn’t know where to start. If that is the case, remind her of the old joke “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” Help her set out small manageable steps and figure out what needs to come first. Provide accountability, and that might be all she needs.

Life Success Coaching: Changing A Negative Identity

Life Success Coaching For Long Term Change | Image by lifehackerTo be successful long term, life success coaching involves identifying your client’s limiting beliefs early on in your work with her. Of course, that is only the first step. Once the two of you have gotten very clear on her goals and on the beliefs that are getting in her way, you want to help her find and take on better, more empowering beliefs. When the limiting beliefs include an identity belief—one that starts “I am…..”, the challenge of making that shift becomes even more dramatic. As a life success coach, here are some strategies you can use to help your client leave her disempowering beliefs behind.

3 Strategies For Changing an Identity Belief

1. One of the most powerful strategies of life success coaching is simply asking the right questions to open up possibilities that your client can’t see for herself. An identity belief makes it hard to see any alternative way of being. If your client believes she is worthless, for instance, every possibility is filtered through the lens of worthless and she can’t see how she could be any other way. To bypass her filter, ask her “Who could you think you are?” When you set it up as a hypothetical, you get past the defenses and allow her subconscious to begin to accept the possibility of a different belief.

2. Work with your client to find what the belief is covering up. It will be protecting her in some way from losing out on meeting one or more of her 4 basic needs of certainty, variety, significance and love and connection. When she understands the purpose of the belief, she can begin to look for other ways to serve that purpose.

3. Have your client commit to taking some action that flies in the face of her limiting belief. It won’t be comfortable, but it will prove that the limiting belief is false. Explain that this is necessary no matter how she feels about it, and make sure your life success coaching includes holding her accountable in a powerful way.

Life Success Coaching For Long Term Change

Changing an identity belief, or any limiting belief for that matter, is a long term proposition. The techniques above will start the process, but your life success coaching has to include strategies to help prevent your client from slipping back into old familiar patterns. The core transformation process, which we’ll discuss in another article, will embed the changes. Then on an ongoing basis, encourage your client to act from her new beliefs and hold her accountable powerfully for doing so. Have her visualize and get into the feeling of her new empowered beliefs every night within half an hour of going to sleep. Have her keep a record of each action she takes from her new beliefs, how it changes her life, and how it makes her feel. Remind her to acknowledge every success verbally or with a pat on the back.

Helping someone eliminate a belief that is holding her back from what she wants in life is an amazing experience for both coach and client. Life success coaching is a great opportunity to make this happen.

Give this strategy a try and see for yourself that it works. If you liked this coaching tip, leave a comment or use the handy bookmark buttons below to share it with others on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. Thanks!

10 Benefits Of Goal Setting For life Success Coaching

SMART Goal Setting For life Success Coaching | Image by project-management-skillsLife Success Coaching needs goals to make your client happy. Without setting specific goals, you won’t know whether you are headed towards what your client wants, and neither will you be able to tell when you’ve reached the end point of that particular journey. The need for goal setting in coaching and in life is absolute, and here are 10 reasons why.

The 2 Benefits That Make Goal Setting Critical For Life Success Coaching

You’ve probably heard that life success coaching goals, in fact all goals, should be SMART—specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. But why? What are the benefits of having goals that fit this model. The first two are obvious.

1. Without specific goals it’s impossible for you or your client to have clarity on what he wants to achieve in his life. And without that clarity, you’ll never know if you are even heading in the right direction with your coaching!

2. If you don’t have specific measurable goals, you’ll never know where your client’s end point is and whether he’s actually achieved what he wanted.

Some Hidden Benefits Of Goal Setting

3. If your client is clear on his goals, you are clear on his goals, and he is clear that you are clear, there’s a lot less wiggle room for failure. The chances of success go way up.

4. As a life success coach, goal setting is a way of increasing your client’s personal growth. She will have more time for her important relationships and for contributing to her community because her energy will be more clear and focused.

5. Clear goals cut down on brain fuzz– the sidetracks, “rabbit holes” and ephemera that can steal your client’s time.

6. Your life success coaching client will be more productive because his energy will be directed towards one focus and not split and distracted by trivialities.

7. Your client will have a better and more supportive peer group, because he will be attracted to and attractive to other productive, goal-oriented and clear thinking people.

8. Your client will feel good about himself and his self esteem increase because he will be able to watch and measure his own progress toward his desired success.

As his coach, you are instrumental in helping your life success coaching client set the goals that create the energy of a clear and focused mind. In that state, your client will attract the energy of the universe to support him with the people and events he needs, and his goals will soon become reality.

Are Distractions Sabotaging Your Life Success Coaching?

Life Success Coaching: Handling Your Distractions and Getting Into Integrity | Image by Jobs-AOL-Getty ImagesLife success coaching is about making life work for your client. But before you can claim to be an expert at helping your client to achieve success, you must be energetically aligned with success in your own life. Are you succeeding at the level you want? If you are, fantastic. High five, and carry on. But if you aren’t, it’s worth looking at what distractions might be keeping you from that alignment. What distractions are saboteurs of your success and your coaching integrity?

Evaluate Your Distractions

What do your particular distractions look like? What pulls your focus away from the task at hand? What’s on your mind as a should do without a date or a plan to take care of it?

Whether it’s the clutter on your desk, noisy children or not finding the time to fit in your workout yet again today, if you are tolerating these mind distractions they distance you from your own success. They pull you out of alignment with your greater purpose of life success coaching for your clients. If you are coaching on life concerns or goals which are eluding you personally, you are going to be lacking integrity with your clients, and their success is likely to be as elusive as your own.

Do Your Own Life Success Coaching On Yourself

There are some simple but not easy steps to handling your distractions and getting into integrity so you won’t sabotage your life success coaching.

1. Brainstorm all your distractions and list out the top ten. These can range from personal care like not exercising or not getting enough sleep to not having your bookkeeping up to date to needing to wallpaper the kitchen. Whatever is on your mind as something you should be doing qualifies as a distraction.

2. Pick your top 3 distractions and make a realistic plan to handle them.

3. Get yourself an accountability coach and take action to clean up the top 3.

4. Repeat 2 and 3 above.

Handling your distractions will allow your energy to line up with your intention in a much more direct way. It will increase your level of integrity and your personal success, and therefore allow a much clearer path for your life success coaching to make the difference you intend in the lives of your clients.

Hope you took some great value out of this post today! I’d love to hear your feedback, so make sure you leave a comment with your thoughts or questions. And also, you can click on the Twitter button below to retweet this article… Thank you!

Life Success Coaching: Getting Your Clients to Make Better Choices

life success coaching to help your clients achieve moreThe secret in life success coaching your clients is to get them to make better choices than they did before you came along.  Unfortunately, many clients try to take action in areas that they do not control which tends to cause frustration or even a bit of depression.  In other words, they know what to do but choose not to do it.  Your clients will use words like “should have” or “ought to have” done something.

Life Success Coaching: Your Client’s Often Need a Triggering Event to Get Started

.

Your life success coaching client often needs a “triggering event” to remind them what to do on a daily basis.  Each success coaching client will need to define what those steps are for them.  For example, if your coaching client had a desire to earn money to fund their child’s education there would be certain questions that would need to be asked.  Such questions might include when they will need the money, how much money and how much will they have to earn to save enough money?

The key to success in reaching any goal in life is to define what must happen to trigger your coaching client to move forward on a daily basis.  It becomes a domino effect.  If your client does the daily phoning, they make the appointments and develop the clients to earn the money to put away for their child’s education they will make it happen.  If one of the dominoes is out of sync, the entire process falls apart

Life Success Coaching to Make True Commitments

.

When we link our life success coaching clients choices to their desires we can help them make true commitments they can be counted on to deliver.  A commitment is a promise that your client makes to themselves and others that builds their character and integrity.  Webster defines a commitment as “a pledge to do something in the future or a state of being obligated or emotionally impelled.”  This is powerful because people are counting on your client to follow through when they work with your client.  How can our clients expect others to follow through when they work with them if our client doesn’t follow through on what they say they will do?  Either we teach our life success coaching clients to live with integrity demonstrated by actions or they will live a life of hypocrisy.  There is no middle ground.

Would you like an endless stream of new coaching clients? Simply fill out the form to the right with your first name and email and I’ll send you free videos with step-by-step blueprints for generating a massive income from high paying coaching clients.

Life Success Coaching Your Life Coaching Clients to Become Risk Takers

Life success coaching your life coaching clients to become risk takers isn’t easy.  It is human nature to be safe.  Naturally, your life coaching clients will feel no differently.  Nobody wants to take unnecessary risks.  That being said, one reason your life success coaching client hasn’t created the results they want in their life is they haven’t taken enough risks.  The future belongs to the risk takers, not the security seekers.

Life Success Coaching:  Help Your Life Coaching Client Switch Their Attention to Their Goals

.

Your life success coaching client has an important distinction to understand.  The more they seek security in life, the less of it they have.  On the other hand, the more your life coaching client seeks opportunity, the more likely it is that they will achieve the security that they desire.

When your life success coaching client feels fear or anxiety and need to bolster their courage, switch their attention to their goals.  Have them visualize their goals as realities.  Have your life coaching client imagine they are already the person they want to be, enjoying the life they want to live.  Your client’s conscious mind can only hold one thought at a time.  That thought could be a thought of desire or of fear.  When you teach clients to discipline themselves to think and talk continually about their goals, they will cancel out their fears.  They will take complete control over their emotions and their future.

Life Success Coaching:  Helping Your Life Coaching Client Develop Courage

.

The mastery of fear and the development of courage are essential for your life success coaching client to reach a happy life.  When life coaching clients commit themselves to developing courage, they will eventually reach the point where their fears have no control over them.  At that point, fears will no longer play much of a role in your client’s decision making.  Your life coaching client will set big, challenging and exciting goals.  They will have the confidence of knowing that they can attain them.  When that happens, they will be able to face any situation with calmness and self-assurance.

Life Success Coaching: Help Your Success Coaching Client Use Fear to Their Benefit

In your life success coaching or success coaching practice, you can use your client’s fears to benefit them.  How can you do that?  If your life success coaching client has a fear of not having enough money they could react to prevent it.  Your client could work longer and harder than most people.  They could be more determined and driven then everybody else.  Your success coaching client could educate themselves about various ways to invest money.  In this way your client could use fear of not having enough money to help them become financially independent.

Life Success Coaching:  Help Your Success Coaching Client Develop Courage

.

Your life success coaching client can begin the process of developing courage and eliminating fear by engaging in actions consistent with courage and self-confidence.  The life success coaching principle they need to practice is that anything you practice over and over eventually becomes a habit.  The most important kind of courage for your life success coaching client is the courage to begin.  They need to step out in faith in the direction of their goal.  Your client must develop the courage to try something new and different with no guarantee of success.

Recently, in a book by Brian Tracy I read about Robert Ronstadt, a professor of entrepreneurship at Babson College.  This is a great example for your success coaching client.  He conducted a follow up study of his MBA students to find out how they did in life after graduating.  Less than 10 percent of his graduates had started their own businesses and were successful.  The rest of them were working for other companies, still dreaming about becoming entrepreneurs one day.

Life Success Coaching:  Your Success Coaching Client Must Follow the “Corridor Principle”

.

Ronstadt found one quality that the successful entrepreneurs had in common.  That was their willingness to start their own business rather than just thinking about it.  He called this the “Corridor Principle.”  The graduates of his program who had done nothing were still waiting for conditions to be just right before they began.  They were unwilling to go down the corridor of uncertainty until they could be assured they would be successful, which never happened.   Your life success coaching client will need to avoid this.  Your success coaching client must get started today.  This is a courageous act that will help them to keep taking acts of courage and make their dreams come true.

Life Success Coaching so Your Life Coaching Client Avoids Shortcuts That Don’t Work

Life success coaching or life coaching is all about helping your clients maximize their success.  The greatest enemy to your life success coaching client reaching their goals is the path of least resistance. Most people go through their entire life looking for the easy way and that is why they never get there.  Your life coaching client will have a tendency to be like water flowing down a mountain stream.  They are going to have a tendency to look for the easy way to get something done without thinking very much about the long term consequences of their behavior.  This natural tendency your life success coaching client probably explains why they don’t already have what they want in their life.

Life Success Coaching:  Your Life Coaching Client Must do Things the Right Way

.

The key life success coaching for your client to know is that for most things, there is only one way to get there.  If your life coaching client wants to be physically fit, they will get there when they are committed to doing the work, and not one second sooner.  They will have to exercise 200 minutes or more per week.  They will have to do stretching exercises, strength building and cardio exercise.  They must exercise their upper body and their lower body.  Just like brushing their teeth or bathing, they will have to do it their entire life to reach their fitness goals.

Life Success Coaching:  Your Life Coaching Client Must go Against the Path of Least Resistance

.

If your life success coaching client wants to be mentally strong and wealthy, they will have to work out mentally as well.  Your life coaching client will have to read and study in their field of work each day.  They must keep current on what is going on in their industry.  They must listen to educational audio in their car instead of Hannah Montana.  They must use their time to improve personally and professionally instead of watching reality television.  The life success coaching here is that your client must resist the path of least resistance EVERY day.  If they develop this habit, there is no limit to the success in life they achieve.

Life Coaching Tips: What is Spring Cleaning in the Life Success Coaching Closet?

Spring is here, and it’s time to start cleaning out your life coaching closet.  Can you believe that we’re approaching the second quarter?  Where are you in regard to your life success coaching business goals?  Are you at least 25% of the way there?  Have you been celebrating the wins you’ve already achieved in your life coaching business?  It may be time for a life success coaching clean up.

What Strategies Are Working In Your Life Success Coaching Practice

.

Life Success Coaching Tip #1:  Look at your life coaching goals and see where you are in relation to achieving them.  What strategies are working?  Which ones are not and need to be thrown out, repaired, or donated to a worthy cause?

What Life Coaching Beliefs Are Working For You?

.

Life Success Coaching Tip #2:  Discard any limiting beliefs that no longer serve you.  In order to effectively do this, you’ll need to take a thorough inventory of your beliefs.  What do you say to yourself when you look at your progress with your life coaching goals?  What beliefs keep you from raising the bar even further?

Remove the Clutter From Your Life Success Coaching Closet

.

Life Success Coaching Tip #3:  Remove clutter.  Clutter comes in the form of evidence that supports your limiting beliefs.  For example, if you have the  limiting belief “I’m a failure,” there will be certain times in your life that you can recall that “prove” that this belief is true.  Make sure you get rid of this “clutter” when you discard your limiting beliefs or the mess will just creep back into your life.

So now that your life success coaching closet is cleaned out, you are ready to work on your life coaching goals with improved focus.  You’ll have more energy, and you’ll be ready to really make a difference in the world.

Life Success Coaching: How To Give Your Life Coaching Client An Attitude Adjustment From Failure To Success

Your life coaching (life success coaching) client may have heard people talk about someone else needing an “attitude adjustment” at some point in their life. Your life coaching client may even have heard the popular personal development phrase, “Your attitude determines your altitude.” However, your life success coaching client probably doesn’t think of himself or herself as needing an “attitude adjustment,” so your life coaching may have its work cut out for it.

Life Success Coaching: Change Your Life Coaching Clients Language And You Will Change Their Results

.

The way your life coaching client thinks about problems determines their attitude. Their attitude determines their success. So how do you help your life success coaching clients to change their attitude for the better? You can use three words to change your client’s attitude and approach to any problem they will face. First, have them change the word “problem” to the word “situation.” “Problem” is a negative word that creates fear, anxiety and stress. “Situation” is a generally neutral word. Instead of your life success coaching client saying, “I have a problem,” they should say, “I have a situation,” to give themselves the best mindset for finding solutions.

An alternative to having your life success coaching or life coaching client say “situation,” is to have them say “challenge” instead. Challenge is a positive word. It makes someone feel like they will rise to the challenge. It opens up the way for your client to bring out the best in themselves or others. Challenges make life exciting and by rising to them your client will achieve greater levels of success. Another word they can use is “opportunity.” Instead of saying “I have a problem” your client can say, “I have a new opportunity.”

Life Success Coaching: Help Your Life Coaching Client To Find The Benefit

.

Your life success coaching client needs to find the benefit in the situation in order to handle it in a successful way. Help them learn to look for the good in every situation. The attitude of looking for the advantage or benefit of any situation is the way the most successful people in the world think. In helping your life coaching client to develop this attitude, you have given them the attitude necessary to attract success in life.
