Do Gurus Over Play Inner Game Coaching Claims For Fame?

Inner game coaching claims made by the famous, highly paid gurus promise huge rewards if you just get yourself to believe that you can take charge and leap over a skyscraper like superwoman to rise above any preventing obstacle that has in the past stopped you cold psychologically like your fears, frustrations, and not only these petty frustrations gurus say you can run right over your addictions and attachments that you find it to be very painful to let go.

I’ve heard it said that self mastery is probably the hardest job that you’ll ever tackle. When you look into a mirror you see your best friend smiling back at you and that same person is the one that’s holding you back from growing beyond that little girl who won’t allow you to grow up.

What a fascinating contradiction and tricky dilemma for you to figure out.

Can you believe the gurus, and if not, who can you believe and where do you go for real answers?

Inner Game Coaching Claims: A, B, C, or D?

What’s fitting here to get to the bottom of my guru question is a short 3 question quiz that’ll give you a chance to come to your own conclusion about the guru inner game claims.

What’s the number 1 thing coaching clients want?

Inner peace?
More sex? (stop it)
A bigger bank account?
To change the way they feel?

What causes you to have emotions?

The food you eat?
What you believe?
Bad parents
Poor self esteem?

Which one of the following is part of your inner game state of mind?

The bull crap that goes on inside your head?
What you say to your self
The look on your face
All of the above?

This is a short quiz, but it’ll be very informative in just a few seconds more as an inner game coaching quiz to check out whether you believe the gurus know what they’re talking about.

Answers to The Guru Fame Game

The first answer is letter D. The essence of what coaching clients want when it comes to their inner game coaching is to change the way they feel. By changing the way they feel, they will change their inner game psychology to an empowering, powerful state of mind to achieve what it is they want.

The gurus are correct in preaching that you should change your inner game mindset to increase your confidence.

The answer is letter B. Your beliefs that are active right at this moment controls your emotional state. Change your beliefs, and you’ll change the way you feel. Your belief locks in your state of mind. Whatever you want to achieve, it has to be done with the proper mindset; otherwise you’ll probably fail miserably.

Again, the gurus got this one right too. That’s why gurus plant positive seeds of thought into their inner game coaching presentations to get you into an empowering state of mind to shift your thinking and hence your results.

The answer is all of the above letter D. Your body, your focus, and what you say to yourself silently or out loud controls your state of mind. Inner game coaching helps you to transform all three parts of your state of mind to create breakthrough transformation when it comes to your big vision and harry audacious goals.

Well, the famous gurus got this inner game coaching claim wright too. That’s why they have you all stand up and move your body, shout positive affirmations, and check your negative thoughts at the door.

How well did you do on this short inner game quiz? If you missed more than one answer, then you’re probably someone who has little faith in what the gurus preach. Guru claims about inner game coaching after all have stood up to the short inner game psychology test that I’ve just walked you through.

Inner Game Coaching From Harry Potter’s Mentor

Use Inner Game Coaching To Defeat The Enemy | Image by colliderInner game coaching isn’t something that most clients know they need when they first come to a coach. A client often gets into coaching because he has some goal or another that he just can’t seem to accomplish. Or maybe she is just unhappy about something or someone in her life. Wherever the client may think the blame lies, as his coach, you need to know the same things that Professor Dumbledore knew: one, that your client created his own worst enemy, and two, how to defeat that enemy.

Creating Your Worst Enemy

In the game of life, we are often our own worst enemies. You’ve probably heard that aphorism before, and it’s certainly a useful one for an inner game coach to know. So how does it happen? How does your client create his worst enemy? He creates it at a young age without even knowing he’s doing it because of the way his child mind interprets things that people say and do. He sets up inner beliefs that act as filters for his experiences and that lead him to FEAR, or False Evidence Appearing Real. Then as an adult, the fears magnify. He fears not having his needs met or meeting them at a lower level. He fears change, not being enough and losing love. Your client needs inner game coaching to help him find what’s real. Without it, his fears will make him his own worst enemy. They can stop him in his tracks or send him to dead-ends or on detours so he will never reach his goals.

Use Inner Game Coaching To Defeat The Enemy

To defeat his internal enemy, your client needs a new mindset. That’s where inner game coaching comes into play. It starts with finding the beliefs that are limiting your client’s success and then transforming them to empowering alternative beliefs. Once the beliefs are transformed, work with your client to embed the new beliefs. Make sure never to end a session without a commitment from your client to take some action based in his new beliefs. Have him keep a journal or a record of his thoughts and actions that are consistent with who he is becoming. Set up accountability for him, and celebrate the changes with him.

Your client’s empowered mindset is what allows him to take action toward his goals in a powerful positive way. Your inner game coaching is the way to help him establish that mindset.

5 Keys To Client Victories From Inner Game Coaching

Inner Game Coaching: 5 Areas To Your Client's Business Success | Image by internetmarketingstrategydivaInner game coaching is often the difference between an entrepreneur with a successful business, and one who fails. Here are 5 areas which are often limiting to your client’s business success, where you can use your coaching skills to help them shift to a mindset which will lead to victory in business.

Be Careful About Assumptions

In Rules For Revolutionaries, Guy Kawasaki talks about dumping “your idols.” In other words, don’t assume that just because something has always been done a particular way, that’s the only way it can be done. Make sure your client looks carefully at what his assumptions are about his business and how it needs to run. With the endpoint he wants in mind, challenge him to make different assumptions and see what new and brilliant solutions he comes up with.

The Time Frame Might Need To Be Different

Inner game coaching is often about becoming willing to be flexible about time and schedules. To invite success in his business, your client might need to shift his inner time clock. That could mean pushing himself to work faster than his natural inclination. It could mean being willing to do tasks in a different order than the particular order he has in mind. It could mean delegating so that more than one task can be done at once.

Be On The Alert For Opportunities

Opportunities often come unexpectedly or at inopportune times. Like someone in a tennis game who seizes the opportunity to rush the net and slam the ball into the other side of the court, your client needs to keep his eyes and ears open so he can seize opportunities that come his way. If he doesn’t stay open to unusual possibilities and ready to move on a moment’s notice when one arises, the opportunities will pass him by. One key to successful business is the move not just strategically, but quickly and decisively.

Keep Your Mindset Positive

With inner game coaching, you can help your client stay positive even when things aren’t going the way he expects. Coach him to consider events and situations from a different perspective than he normally would. I recently heard business entrepreneur Steve Little say, “Winners see options. Losers complain.” Get your client out of the mindset where he complains and feels stuck.

If You Don’t Get The Result You Want, Change Something

Coach your client to get totally clear on the results he wants. Once he has that clarity he will know if what he is doing is working. And if it isn’t, he needs to change what he is doing. Tweak it; modify it; and see what the changes accomplish. The willingness to make changes is part of the mindset work you do in your inner game coaching.

The inner game is all about how your client thinks, how he approaches problems and how well he manages himself and his feelings. Get your client to keep these 5 keys in mind and watch him win.

Give this strategy a try and see for yourself that it works. If you liked this coaching tip, leave a comment or use the handy bookmark buttons below to share it with others on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. Thanks!

Psychology Coaching 101: How Where You Are in Your Inner Game Coaching Business Makes All the Difference

Understanding psychology coaching can really help drive your results.  Sure we know from inner game coaching that wherever we are, is a result.  It’s the effect of our actions, thoughts and beliefs.  But according the psychology coaching experts, beliefs drive 95% of our perceptions, behaviors and actions.  There are three basic zones in inner game coaching, and where you are with your own inner game coaching can predict quite a bit.

What Does Psychology Coaching Teach Us About Flight or Fight?

.

Inner Game Coaching Zone #1:  The Danger Zone

What would psychology coaching say about this zone?  This is the fight or flight zone high stress, high motivation and high risk.  It is here where people decide to finally step up to the plate and get the result they want, or they curl up in a ball and do nothing.  Most people do not tolerate being here for too long before they move toward the next zone or their life completely unravels and they become comfortable in a lower level.

After The Danger Zone, Pyschology Coaching Clients Will Find Themselves in Their Comfort Zone

.

Inner Game Coaching Zone #2:  The Comfort Zone:

In this zone, people are surviving.  If they have just made it out of the Danger Zone they are likely to stop and rest here.  Without some type of psychology coaching, most people will not move on to the third zone.  Most people are motivated away from pain, and in this zone there is a perception that there will be less pain staying than moving forward to the Thriving Zone.  Of course, if they start slipping into the Danger Zone again they will usually react quickly.

Lastly, With Psychology Coaching Your Client Can Enter The Thriving Zone

.

Inner Game Coaching Zone #3:  The Thriving Zone

Few people ever achieve this zone without psychology coaching, and in the U.S. it’s a shame.  To get to this zone, most people have to undergo “growing” pains.  They need to shed the beliefs that are not serving them, take consistent new actions toward the life they want, and surround themselves with peers that support them.  For most people, this is an insurmountable challenge on their own.

The great news, however, is that according to the psychology coaching experts once you make it to the Thriving Zone you become a person who will naturally move back there.  You could loose your house, your car, your family and friends, and still be able to re-create it as long as your inner game has not changed.  In inner game coaching, your gift to your clients is opening up that possibility.

Success Coaching: Giving Your Clients Inner Game Coaching To Create Great Relationships With Others

In your success coaching business, what inner game coaching will help your clients create great relationships with others?  In success coaching you must help your to clients master creating relationships with other people.  They will need inner game coaching to change how they listen to others when others speak.  Here are two strategies to use to help your clients maintain great relationships with other people.

Success Coaching Technique:  Make Sure Your Client Makes The Other Person Feel Like Your Client Understands Them First

.

The first inner game coaching technique is to change how your client listens to others.  Help your client to seek first to understand the other person, then to be understood by the person.  It’s not whether your client thinks that the other person feels understood by your client.  It’s whether the OTHER person thinks your client understands them.  If your client is only concerned about being understood there will be no agreement.   Your success coaching client should say things like “let me make sure I understand, you mean this….correct?”  Your client needs to put a little extra effort to make sure they understand what the person means.

Inner Game Coaching:  Complaints Are Just Feedback And Not A Personal Attack

.

When giving your client inner game coaching you will need to teach them how to deal with complaints from people since they will hear complaints from time to time.  In your success coaching business, teach your client that complaints are just feedback.  It isn’t a personal attack if their boss or a client complains about them.  It is really valuable to know this in order to prevent your client from getting defensive.  If they are defending themselves they are not trying to satisfy the complaint.  If your client seeks to understand others first, instead of  to be understood, they will maintain great relationships.

To Have Success Coaching Your Clients Long Term What Inner Game Coaching Will They Need?

What inner game coaching will your clients need for you to have success coaching them in the long run?  You will need to keep them emotionally connected to you.  I have had success coaching many of my clients for a long time.  The inner game coaching I do with them is very important to keep them wanting me to coach them long enough to get results.  Over time we develop such a strong emotional bond and trust between us that they ask me for coaching in all areas of their life.    When we use the term “inner game coaching” we are talking about client’s beliefs, feelings and comfort zones.  There are three things your clients need from you to keep them as your client long term.

To Have Success Coaching Clients, You Need To Make Them Feel Like You Value Them

w

To have success coaching your client long term they need to believe you value them.  You cannot deliver effective inner game coaching if your clients think you do not care about them.  It doesn’t matter how much you know because they won’t listen.  One way to make your client feel that you value them is to take good notes during your sessions.  Really listen, and do not be “waiting to talk.”

Praise Your Clients Efforts To Have Success Coaching in the Long Term

r

To have success coaching your client you must praise their positive actions.  It doesn’t matter how small their actions may seem to them.  To give them inner game coaching that is only focused on what they didn’t do well will discourage them.  If your client gets no encouragement from you they will stop coaching with you.  If you make them feel like they are making progress it will motivate them to keep trying and not give up. If you do this you will have success coaching your clients to get results.

Help Your Clients with Inner Game Coaching on How to View Their Wins and You Will Build a Successful Life Coaching Business

e

Lastly, you will need to give your clients inner game coaching on how to view their wins.  A lot of people ignore their wins and focus on their disappointments.  For your client to feel like they are making progress toward their goals you will need to teach them to celebrate their wins.  Celebrate with them over the phone during their coaching session.  Pat them on the back and tell them they did a great job.  If you do these things you will have many clients stay with you for a long time and you will have a satisfying coaching business.

Success Coaching Using the DISC Assessments: Inner Game Coaching To Increase Sales

How Inner Game Coaching Can Bring Results to Your Success Coaching

.
The DISC and PAIV Assessments are a great tool to take stock of what motivates your success coaching clients and influences how they tend to behave.  Inner game coaching uses the client’s language patterns, beliefs, and physiology to alter clients’ results.  Assessment results will also help with inner game coaching by helping your clients become aware of their natural tendencies and allow them to work within their natural strengths instead of trying to do things the way others do.  Success coaching is about bringing out the best attributes of a person, and helping them become more successful at who they really are.

Behavioral Styles of Sales Clients Enrolled in Success Coaching

.
How can you use the assessments to improve your outcomes in your sales success coaching clients?  The first way is to recognize two of the most common behavioral styles found in sales people.  The traditional super sales star might be seen as the High D and High I combination.  This person is influential with people, driven by goals, and tends to care little about rules that don’t suit them.  They often behave in a rather fearless style.  They are naturally outgoing and optimistic.  Inner game coaching for these people would include helping them setting long term goals to help avoid the roller coaster effect of achieving goals and the potential “let down” they feel after.  They often move forward so fast that customer service is affected, and typically need some supportive staff to handle the details that might otherwise fall through the cracks.

The Characteristics of Clients Who Are More Suited for Inner Game Coaching

.
The other behavioral style seen in success coaching is the High S and High C profile.  Not as commonly successful in most sales areas as the High D and High C profile, these people can enjoy long term success provided they get inner game coaching to navigate the typical challenges they encounter.  For example, most of these people would rather undergo dental work than make calls.  Although they tend to do great with customer service due to their tendency to be detail oriented, they fear rejection and avoid confrontation unless absolutely necessary.  But in contrast to the High D/ High I behavioral style, the High S/ High C client will be more likely to find lifelong clients who are going to give great referrals.

Clients Who Can Move from Inner Game Coaching to Success Coaching

.
The reason the High S/ High C profiles are likely to become success coaching clients is that with inner game coaching they can become sales superstars who enjoy the rewards of their efforts for many years.  They are not likely to make cold calls, but if they have a reason to make a call they can overcome their natural introverted tendencies.  One agent I worked with even went through the effort to bake holiday cookies for her clients.  It sounds like a lot of extra work, but she enjoys the baking and even looks forward to making her calls and ‘visiting’ with her past clients.  Delivering the cookies gives her enough certainty that she can overcome her natural tendencies and fears.

Using the DISC and PAIV Assessments can really give you insight for inner game coaching that might otherwise take weeks or even months.  Instead of a cookie cutter approach to success coaching, you can bring out your clients natural strengths.  And that type of success is much more sustainable over time.
